The Church Faith Built

THE CHURCH FAITH BUILT is the journey which began in 2019 when Pastor Mark Hopper and the church leaders felt God moving on the church to move to a new location.  The church had been at it's location at 226 Capital Ave. NE., Battle Creek Michigan for many years. The church leaders felt we needed more space with more accessibility on one floor. We began to look for property or buildings which could be converted into a new church campus. After searching in the outlying areas of Battle Creek they were able to locate a building downtown not far from the old location. The building is widely known in the Battle Creek area as the "Michigan WORKS" building.  It is widely recognized within the community because it sits next to the post office and across the street from Kellogg World Headquarters.

In March 2020 Pastor Hopper decided to launch a stewardship campaign which would be called "THE CHURCH FAITH BUILT."  The week of the launch is when the entire country was shut down because of Covid. Church had to be conducted through live streaming. Pastor Hopper went ahead with the launch online. For the next 10 weeks Pastor Hopper preached about THE CHURCH FAITH BUILT.

On July 11, 2020 the first fruits offering was brought by the congregation to the church. Over $100,000 was brought on that day to launch the campaign. Over $500,000 was pledged to be given during the next two years. By January 2023 over $320,000 had been raised.

The Potter's House Church purchased the Hamblin Ave buildiing in March 2021.  The Potters House church sold it's former church at 226 Capital Ave. In January 2022.  Currently they are meeting on Sundays at the Lakeview Middle School in Lakeview.  Wednesday nights are being held in the church annex next door to the old church.

The projected completion date for the new building is September 2022.

A new church name was unveiled on April 3, 2022.  The new name is DOWNTOWN CHURCH.  The church is IN the city, and the new church will be a church FOR the city.
