The journey of relocation for their church began in 2019, led by Pastor Mark Hopper and their church leadership team in response to a prompting they felt from God. After many years at 226 Capital Ave. NE in Battle Creek, Michigan, it became evident to all that they needed a larger, more accessible space all on one floor.

Their search for a suitable property led them to a building downtown, near their previous location, known locally as the 'Michigan WORKS' building. This building's prominent location near the post office and Kellogg World Headquarters made it a strategic choice for their new church campus.

Despite the challenges posed by the Covid shutdown in March 2020, Pastor Hopper initiated a stewardship campaign named 'THE CHURCH FAITH BUILT'. This campaign was launched online and successfully garnered support from their congregation, with over $100,000 raised during the first fruits offering, and a total pledge of over $500,000 for the next two years. By January 2023, $320,000 had been raised towards their new building.

In March 2021, The Potter's House Church purchased the building on Hamblin Ave and sold their former church location on Capital Ave in January 2022. They are currently gathering on Sundays at the Hamblin Ave Parking Lot.

They are excited to announce that the projected completion date of their new building is Summer 2024. Furthermore, a new name for their church, 'DOWNTOWN CHURCH', was unveiled on April 3, 2022. This name reflects their commitment to the city and their vision for a church that serves and impacts their local community.

Who we are.

Together we are a community of believers. What does that mean, the word community? We believe that together in fellowship we grow closer to God and one another. The bible speaks about iron sharpening iron. We believe that together we grow stronger. We are a community of believers.

We strive to be a church without walls. Jesus calls for us to go outside the walls to reach the lost and the broken. It is there that the lost will be found. Most churches find it is comfortable to stay within the walls, but we make it an effort to be like the church from the book of Acts, to see our city changed.
